About CDHY

In 2009, The Washington State Center for Childhood Deafness and Hearing Loss (CDHL) was established to provide statewide leadership for the coordination and delivery of educational services to children who are deaf or hard of hearing. On May 7, 2019 Governor Inslee officially signed House Bill 1604 which changes our agency name to, The Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth (CDHY). Learn More

CDHY is an independent agency within the state of Washington. Its governing Board of Trustees and its Executive Director are appointed by the Governor. All activities of the Center are under the authority of the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees.
